The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC on Thursday night arrested the former Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport Lagos.
He was arrested at about 8.30pm.
This development is coming few hours after Obiano handed over to Prof Charles Soludo, who is the new governor of Anambra state.
He was on his way to Texas, USA when operatives intercepted him. It can also be recalled that his wife, Osodieme Ebelechukwu was in the news earlier today for fighting with Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of former Biafran warlord, late Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu.
Obiano has been on the EFCC’s watchlist for a while now over allegations of fraud and embezzlement of public funds.
