Thousands of Immigrants are at the verge of being deported back to their home countries because their sponsors or employers’ licences have been revoked or withdrawn by the UK authorities and immigrants linked to these employers are already facing various problems and if they are unable to get a new visa sponsorship or employer willing to sponsor them within 60 days, they risk being asked to leave the country. This is a sad development as most of these immigrants now residing in the UK prior to their coming into the UK have nothing left back home and going back home empty handed is their biggest fear; worst still is that these immigrants have lots of family members and dependants back home who look up to them, but with this development many hopes are being dashed. The situation is depressing, traumatizing and frustrating, same could affect their mental health and sanity.

More so, it should be noted that these immigrants prior to their sponsorship, fulfilled all the requirement stipulated by their sponsors and the government hence they were issued a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) and thereafter issued visas to come work and reside in the United Kingdom. These Immigrants despite the lapses the government may have observed from their sponsors, since they arrived the UK they have continued to pay their taxes, National Insurance contributions, paying rents and offering various services to the resident and people of the United Kingdom.

All though their employees may have fallen short of government requirements or regulations, however it is not the fault of these immigrants and hence they should not be liable for the offences of their employers/sponsors. These employees fulfilled all the requirements to get their visa sponsorship and they should be exonerated from this circumstances and never be made to pay for the sins of their sponsors please. So this petition is to appeal to the good conscience of the British authorities to please tamper justice with mercy and save thousands of these innocent immigrants from being sent back to their home countries but to fashion out a policy to continue to accommodate these migrants in the United Kingdom pending when they get a new visa switch to a new employer/sponsor. The usual 60 days timeline to get a new switch or visa sponsorship may not be feasible anymore under the current circumstance as the Home Office has been quite slow in issuing sponsorship lately especially with the new immigration rules coming to effect from April 4, 2024.
