~ Appeals for Industries
~ Maintains that Eze Ekpeye Logbo stool is not hereditary
The name “Ekpeye” has been a sort of binding force for unity amongst the people of this unique ethic nationality in the South-South part of Nigeria. People can easily identify and call themselves ” Ekpeye” whenever they find themselves outside Ekpeye land or meeting for the first time- Ekpeye depicts unity and oneness.
It is in lieu of these facts that the socio- cultural organisation of the Ekpeye people in diaspora (Usama Ekpeye USA Inc) was formed.
Speaking at the just concluded virtual convention of Usama Ekpeye USA Inc 2021, His Royal Majesty Eze (Hon) Cassidy O. W Ikegbidi JP, AP, Eze Igbu Akoh II of Akoh Kingdom eulogised the executives ably led by Eric Dogini Ph.D for a successful convention and progress so far.
Eze Ikegbidi appealed to Ekpeye sons and daughters in diaspora to think home especially engaging the youths meaningfully. He said ” I want to appeal to you all to come home and see things for yourself, Ekpeye is peaceful and safe for investors; use your good offices and connections to attract industries even if it is tissue or toothpick industries to Ekpeye land, this will cause a multiplier effect in terms of employment which in turn will automatically change our land for good”
The Igbu Akoh monarch stressed that Ekpeye youths are not totally useless as 95% of them are very educated and industrious but jobless coupled with the current harsh economic realities.
“Ekpeye youths are not necessarily useless as people here may make you believe, our youths are industrious, hardworking and highly educated but lack jobs, and you know the government can not do this alone” he added.

On the issue of who becomes the next King of Ekpeye ethnic nationality (Eze Ekpeye Logbo III), Eze Cassidy Ikegbidi opined that for total peace to be maintained amongst the traditional rulers in Ekpeye, he advised that no king currently occupying a stool of any kingdom in Ekpeye should be interested to contest, while stressing that a written constitution or document on the roles of the new Eze Ekpeye Logbo should be penned down to give guidance on his areas of jurisdiction and scope of operations as it is evident that all kingdoms in Ekpeye has been elevated to first class status courtesy of His Excellency Chief (Barr) Ezenwo Nyesom Wike CON, GSSRS, POS (Africa), Executive Governor of River State. He said ” to me, the issue of who becomes the next Eze Ekpeye Logbo III should be critically looked into to avoid another round of crisis in Ekpeye Land, the stool is democratic hence it is not hereditary as claimed by some sections; we all will collectively have a stake democratically in who becomes our next Eze Ekpeye Logbo III hence people fanning the embers of war and discord should be cautioned. Those who are continually dishing out strange histories of the stool of Eze Ekpeye Logbo to suit their selfish interest should as well be called to order as a stitch in time saves nine”
Conclusively, the Igbu Akoh revered first class monarch prayed for the prosperity and success of all Ekpeye sons and daughters both at home and abroad.
