The Ebony state Governor David Umahi has commended the suspended PDP National Chairman, Iyorcha Ayu for supporting the emergence of the President-Elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the just concluded presidential polls.
Umahi spoke during a project commissioning event on Monday in Port Harcourt on the instance of Governor Wike.
David Umahi said that Iyorchia Ayu worked for the emergence of Bola Tinubu as president-elect.
He said: ”I want to also thank the suspended Chairman of the PDP. He did very well because if he had accepted to resign, it would have been very difficult for the APC.
“So he is our man, and I commend him very, very well. And I am begging Wike that they should lift the suspension so that he can suspend many more of their leaders.
We love what he has done, and so we commend him. I think Asiwaju must know that he worked for him and must also integrate him into the next administration,”.
The PDP National Chairman was suspended by the ward organ of his party.
The suspension of Dr. Ayu was effected by the Ward Executive of the party in Igyorov Ward of Gboko Local Government Area, LGA, of Benue state.
Addressing the media Sunday, on behalf of Kashi Philip, the Ward Chairman, the Ward Secretary Mr. Vangeryina Dooyum explained that Dr. Ayu was suspended by the Executive for alleged anti party activities.
Although, Ayu has dismissed the purported suspension saying that only the National Executive Council (NEC) organ can suspend him.
