Wike to Sim: Be firm; protect Rivers intrest first before any other intrest

Rivers state Governor Nyesom Wike has advised the Governor-elect Sir Siminilaye Fubara and the Deputy Governor-Elect Prof Ngozi Ordu to be firm as they take over the mantle of leadership in the state come may 29, 2023.

Governor Wike also advised them to above all things protect the intrest of the state first and at all times and see the state as the greatest in the comity of states in the Nigeria federation.

The Governor gave the charge during a valedictory session held in Government House Port Harcourt.

Wike who recounted the challenges in leadership of a complex state as Rivers state charged the Governor-elect and his deputy to be firm to surmount all challanges.

He prayed God to assist them in the administration to even surpass the achievements of his administration.

Speaking at the session the Governor scored his administration very high as there are footprints of project executed by his administration across the 23 LGAs in the state.

Speaking also the Deputy Governor Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo extol the virtues of her Principal for giving women a significant place in his administration. She thanked the Governor for nominating her as his deputy for two consecutive terms making her becoming the first female Deputy Governor since the inception of Rivers state. She also thanked him for also nominating her as the parties candidate for the Rivers West senatorial seat which she eventually won the election.

The Governor also used the valedictory session to dissolve the state Executive Council and tanked them for thier service to the state.
