As the 2023 elections gathers momentum, different candidates declaring intrest for various public offices, the Rivers state Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has also made his intention known.
Governor Wike made the declaration on Sunday through his Facebook page.
The statement said;
“I will be running for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
The statement has generated unprecedented reactions from followers and supporters of the Governor who pledged thier support and solidarity to the course.
Although the PDP is yet to come out with a zoning policy for the 2023 election, but with the emergence of it’s national Chairman Senator Iyorchia Ayu from the North central the Presidency may likely be zoned to the South.
Governor Wike from the South South has been a strong voice in the Nigeria’s major opposition party the PDP.
