Emergency: Help Save Percy Ejimaji’s Life

Mr Ejimaji Percy Emmanuel a 29 year old Pharmacist, who is presented with 4/7 history of ascending numbness and weakness which started from both lower limbs and rapidly involved the upper limbs.

By the 3rd day of onset of symptoms, weakness has gotten to the neck with associated difficulty in swallowing.

There was a history of a febrile illness 1/52 before onset of symptoms.

His clinical diagnosis is Gullian Barre syndrome with busbar involvement.

Patient is at risk of respiratory muscles paralysis and requires urgent intubation and full ICU care.

He also requires urgent treatment with Human Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) at 24 gm daily for 5 days.

GRIFOLS brand of IVIG costs N350, 000 Naira for 10 grams . A total of 12 vials is required at the sum of #4, 200,000 .

This patient requires at least  12 bottles of IVIG .

Ejimaji Percy Emmanuel an internship Pharmacist practicing at the Rivers State University Teaching hospital Portharcourt, hails from Ogbele community in Ahoada East LGA, Rivers State.

Speaking with his father Dr. Emmanuel Ejimaji, Naijatvnet correspondent  gathered that Mr. Percy his first son is currently in a hospital at Owerri Imo State, Nigeria receiving medical treatment.

He further noted that they had a bill of about N3 million naira balance to pay out of almost 10 million naira bill.
