The Professor Gloria Ukalina Obuzor led Uzugbani Ekpeye Education & Scholarship Committee concludes it’s assignment.
The committee which was inaugurated on 5th June 2021 was mandated with the following terms of Reference (ToR);
1. To Develop education and training programme for the Ekpeye child from kindergarten to tertiary institutions.
2. Source for scholarship funding.3. Develop steps for creating an Education Trust Fund (ETF).4. Integrate Ekpeye language and culture into Ekpeye educational programme.
As recommended by the committee the aim of the Ekpeye Educational Trust Fund (EETF) shall be to award Scholarship to brilliant indigent Ekpeye sons/daughters and the objectives of the EETF shall be as follows:
i.To develop skilled and quality manpower/human capital in for Social economic development of Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality.
ii.To assist Ekpeye indigent sons and daughters fulfill their aspirations of acquiring higher education.
iii.To assist Ekpeye indigent sons and daughters acquire both physical and intellectual skills which will enable them to be self-reliant and useful members of Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality.
The committee is comprised of the following persons:
Prof. Gloria Ukalina Obuzor – Chairman, Barr. Innocent Nwuche – Secretary, Prof. Robinson Monday Olulu, Prof. Nwachuku Ololube, Prof. Victor Akujuru, Dr. (Mrs.) Chinyere Amini-Philips, Mr. Alabo Ihuowo and Mr. Gideon Ele (Co-opted).
Making its final report, the Committee Chairperson Prof Gloria Ukalina Obuzor on behalf of the Uzugbani Ekpeye 2021 Education & Scholarship Committee thanked Uzugbani Ekpeye (the apex socio-cultural organization in Ekpeye ethnic nationality) for the opportunity given to the committee to serve thier fatherland in the capacity and charged Uzugbani Ekpeye Executive council to see to the speedy implementation of the committee’s report.
