Rivers state Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has sworn in Justice Ihenacho Wilfred Obuzor as the Acting President of the Customary Court of Apeal Rivers State.
Governor Wike speaking during the swearing-in at the Government House in Port Harcourt called on judiciary officers to be firm in the discharge of thier duties.
He further charged Judges of the Rivers State Judiciary to rise above fear and execute their judicial functions with firmness and courage
He explained that no judgement can be pleasant to all parties as he urged the newly sworn-in Acting President to leverage on the foundation laid by his predecessor and work on advancing the justice system and developing a strong and vibrant Customary Court of Appeal.
Wike also expressed shock and sorrow on the death of the former President of Rivers State Customary Court of Appeal, late Justice Christiana Gabriel-Nwankwo.
The governor described Justice Gabriel-Nwankwo as one of the State’s distinguished jurists who used their knowledge and skills to advance justice delivery.
In a development the National Executive Council of Uzugbani Ekpeye, the Ekpeye People’s General Assembly in Ahoada East and West local government areas in Rivers State has congratulated thier son Justice I.W Obuzor on his appointment as the Acting President of the Customary Court of Apeal in Rivers State.
In a statement on Thursday by its Publicity Secretary Promise Jacob congratulated his Lordship Justice Obuzor and prayed God to perfect all that concerns him.
The message in part reads:
“On behalf of Ekpeye Ethic Nationality Congratulate His Lordship, Hon. Justice Ihenacho Wilfred Obuzor on his appointment as the Acting President of the Customary Court of Appeal, Rivers State, sworn in earlier today at the Rivers State Executive Council Chambers, Government House Port Harcourt by His Excellency Governor of Rivers State; Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
“We say congratulations as the Lord of Justice shall perfect all that concerns Justice I.W. Obuzor’s duty and crown his efforts with goodness.
